Our ivy berries are a favorite with our local birds. At this time of year, I like to set up my tripod in my yard to photograph my avian neighbors. It's nice to focus on the variety of life around us, to simply take time and -- look. Here is one of my finch friends. A rather humble bird, but this one portrays a proud aire.
Spent the Christmas weekend in Arizona. Drove through some thunderstorms but the Cummins powered Ram took it in steady, non-slip stride. We enjoyed the day in Bisbee Arizona, a historic landmark town, formerly the home of the "Queen Mine," but now an artist colony. A colorful, bustling Main Steet-shops, studios, restaurants, and memories. Here are some pictures of the town. We also visited the Saguaro National Park, East Section. Found a Ladder-Backed Woodpecker. He ardently works knots and slashes in the bark for a grub feast. His vigilance and commitment were impressive.
