The large stick nests are under constructions, or previous nests are being modified--I'm sure the Blue Herons would call their work an enhancement. The land in trees and search intently for the perfect branch and then break it off and fly to their nest to continue their structural work. In a few weeks there will be the frequent squawking of the young calling for more food!
